Case Study

Burlington

Robinson completed the preparation required for the opening of a Burlington on a very sensitive schedule.

The Challenge

A Tulsa-area shopping center was slated to have a lucrative location rental contract with Burlington (once called Burlington Coat Factory) on the condition that the store would be ready to open by April. This timeframe left only seven months for the extensive renovations that would necessary for the store location’s opening. Failure to have the store renovated on schedule would delay the rental contract for an additional six months, resulting in a loss of nearly a half-million dollars in rental revenue.

The Solution

Robinson Construction was hired that October to completely renovate the 55,000 square foot store location in anticipation of the store’s opening the next April. The renovation would require close coordination with both the shopping center and Burlington’s corporate office located in Boston, MA.

The Outcome

Despite initially lacking approved plans from Burlington’s corporate office, Robinson Construction began what renovations that could be performed until plans materialized. The interior of the store location required extensive demolition and remodeling before the new plans could be implemented. Robinson Construction coordinated with both the shopping center as well as Burlington’s corporate office in Boston, MA to have the location completely renovated and the Burlington store ready on schedule and on budget.
